No matter where humans exist, they will always feel the need to express themselves with fashion. For the people here, that's braiding and beads of varying complexity and value.
That's strange indeed. It's likely an unusual side-effect of the incense. In some ways, I wish I didn't remember much of what has transpired here, but there's a difference in choosing to forget and having your memories taken from you.
Wow! I haven't really seen much of that yet, but I guess that's because most of the medics keep their hair covered. Are you getting braids or beads yourself?
I wasn't sure if Law had passed that bit on yet, but I wanted to make sure everyone heard it from me, too. It's one of the things I want to look up about the incense in the library here. I, if I had the choice, I absolutely wouldn't want to forget. Even if Kiichpan was...
[ A pause, ink staining the page as she looks for a comparison. ]
as bad as Niez.
[ If only because she hadn't reached Ganath Haros yet. ]
I have yet to decide. At the moment, I'm still trying to decide if I should allow my hair to grow or have it cut. My last coiffeur was with me for over ten years and knew my hair better than their own, to trust another is almost a betrayal.
Curls require a special touch, and I'm rather tender-headed. I've heard braiding can be quite painful for the first few days.
You're a brave girl, and I should hardly be surprised. If I come across anything interesting in my readings regarding memories I will be sure to let you know.
Go figure you had someone to take care of that. I just used to cut mine with scissors when it got too long to wear safely in the cold.
Well, in that case, why don't you invest in a wig then? That way you keep your hair as you like it right now, but have an idea of how it could look without making a permanent change?
I don't know about that, but..I'm trying. We all are. This has all been a bit scary. But anything you find, I'd love to hear about. And I'll make sure to share things with you too!
I'm not sure if that was meant to be a compliment or not. But given how long it used to take Kisara to help you with untangling your hair when we first started on our journey, I'll take your word for that where 'taming' is concerned.
Well, is that so bad? If you're only looking at styles to start, does the hair colour really matter for that bit?
Of course it was a compliment. You're a very beautiful young lady.
I suppose after a lifetime of standing out due to my appearance, and having taken some time to truly appreciate what makes me different, I am loathe to try and look like anyone else ever again.
[ That's. Well. It's quite honestly the second nicest thing he's ever said to her. (With the first thing probably being facing down Almeidrea and calling her his friend to that witch's face.) ]
..Thank you, Dohalim.
Oh. Huh. I see what you mean. That makes sense. Well, for what it's worth, your hair is a really nice shade of red. I don't think you need any beads for it at all.

I don't think they make red wigs here... I've only seen them in shades of black and brown. The locals are a rather monoethnic for the most part.
You'll be the first to know.

And thank you for saying so. It's a little vivid for some, but I've become quite fond of it.
