I suspect we won't find anything quite as fanciful as they liked to show off in Kiichpan. But no doubt we can put our heads together to think of ways to support the return of such in future. While enjoying a nice meal, of course.

I wonder if the locals would be amenable to a cooking contest in the future... a showing of all the fine cuisine available. A rather silly concept, to be sure, but it could inspire pride in the people and a better understanding of their culture.

You know, I don't think that's all that bad a suggestion. It would be a reason to bring people together, and sharing food is a good way to form bonds within a community - both us as outlanders, and the world at large. I don't think it's silly at all.
