Maybe so. De-escalation is often easier if one is in a position of power, or influence. Both of which mean little in the face of the incense. But I have the beginnings of told to buy myself time to escape, be it from man or monster, and I'm grateful for it.
You certainly don't give him some of the same allowance for not listening on that score as others. But given your sentiments in regards to him, it sounds like you have higher expectations for him as a leader accordingly.

My issue with Eagle is his problems were so easily solved. The gates were already there, he simply had to close them. He took risks with peoples lives out of convenience.
As a former leader, that I cannot abide.

I am constantly amazed by his resilience and compassion. So many men would have become entirely embittered and hateful by all he's experienced.
With a greater civilian population now on his doorstep, he'll have more chances to prove if he's still someone likely to take such risks to the same scale. But I think all four were shaken enough by Kiichpan.
And there are enough of us to remind them, should they forget.
I have hope they will set aside their differences for the betterment of the people. Now is not the time to bicker, or hold petty grudges.

True enough. I have been thinking on that subject as of late. In fact, I meant to speak to you about it, as soon as my thoughts were properly gathered.
I suspect we won't find anything quite as fanciful as they liked to show off in Kiichpan. But no doubt we can put our heads together to think of ways to support the return of such in future. While enjoying a nice meal, of course.
Why so? I know this place is...considerably strange and dangerous, but, I think everyone deserves to enjoy happiness when they find it. Fleeting or otherwise.
I wonder if the locals would be amenable to a cooking contest in the future... a showing of all the fine cuisine available. A rather silly concept, to be sure, but it could inspire pride in the people and a better understanding of their culture.
